[Poem-a-Week] Chasing Black Boots by Wendy A. Garcia

Blinking lights and mezcal, Your silhouette through my glass, Come closer, Come closer, Drink from me. Traces of you in my drink, Smokey cloves, Dancing lips, Moon kryptonite, Taste from me. Shoelaces vibrate, Feel that bass penetrate, Naive lovers dare, Wise stars illuminate, Follow me. Past the dying cigarettes, Chasing black boots, Stairway to blindness, So please close your eyes, Open them wide.
